Your wedding photos will be one of the few things you will have beyond the wedding day, so be prepared and leave nothing to chance.

  • Choose a photographer whose work reflects the style and quality you want for your images.
  • Discuss your hopes and desires with your chosen photographer, careful planning is essential.
  • Put together a list of “Must have Photos”.  Include family and special friend group combinations.  Give a copy of this list to a family member who knows who these people are so they can organise them at the appropriate time.
  • If there are small children in the wedding party have someone come to the shoot so they can entertain them whilst the photos are being taken.
  • Provide refreshments during the shoot for people in the wedding party, avoid messy food and bring along an esky to keep the drinks cool.
  • Bring along a “Repair Kit” to the photo shoot, consisting of: blotting tissues, lip colour, face powder, perfume, spare pantyhose, bandaids, scissors, needle & thread.
  • Jackets for the girls are needed in case it turns cool.
  • Sunglasses for outdoors locations, this will stop you squinting while not being photographed, they can also be useful as props
  • Bring along umbrellas in case it rains, they can also make good props.
  • Your wedding shoes may become uncomfortable, so it may be preferable to bring a pair of flat shoes and change into your wedding shoes for the photos.
  • Bring along a water spray bottle, it helps keep your bouquets looking fresh throughout the day
